The Last Of Us 2 - Only A Dream?

People around the world enjoyed The Last Of Us (TLOU), treating it as one of the best games ever made. And they mean it, the game is extraordinary good, main reason for that is it's not only a game, it's an adventure. You control Joel, a man who lost his daughter when the world came to its ends. After a epidemy breaks out and people get infected and become weird zombie fungi creatures, he is still there. And then there is Ellie, born in that time, struggling to survive. Your quest: Escort Ellie because she may be the cure to this catastrophic disease. How? I can't tell you more about it from here on. But what I can tell you is that we get a deep connection to these two characters as they reveal their strengths and weaknesses, mentally, emotionally, and phisically.

The story is amazing and the end is rather open. So what does the usual gamer demand when he gets connection to characters and an open end? He wants a sequel! Yes!

Nolan North, one of the most famous voice actors (Nathan Drake, The Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot, Desmond Miles, and David from TLOU), spoke about a possible sequel of TLOU at a panel at Metrocon 2015. A fan asked him, what other projects than Uncharted 4 he is working on. His answer
was, "[...] I know they're doing The Last of Us 2."

Naughty Dog haven't said anything about a part two of TLOU. In February this year Neil Druckman, creative director at Naughty Dog, said that there is a 50/50 chance of having TLOU 2 in the making. They think about having a sequel, naturally after that big success of this game.
Another voice actor, Troy Baker (Joker from Arkham Origins, Arkham Knight, Pagan Min, Joel from TLOU) was asked at a QA at the Indy PopCon 2015 how he thinks TLOU's story progresses after the game. His answer was, "I don't know if we're gonna do another one or not." It sounded very authentic, but really he should know it as he plays the main character Joel.

We can only theorize, is Troy Baker and Nolan North telling the truth, and the game gets a sequel, and Joel might not be in the game? Does Nolan North said something that is not true, and we can just forget all the talks about it? Maybe Troy had to lie because he didn't want to reveal any story-related facts... who knows? Well, Naughty Dog knows for sure. I'm not sure, though, if either Neil Druckman or Bruce Straley, game director at Naughty Dog, who both work on Uncharted 4 right now, which will be out next year, have anything to say about a TLOU project in the near future. Let's wait for some facts and let's hope for a sequel that we all long for!
JerriKoe - Game on!
